Hey, I’m Mindy!

I started Spruce + Sparrow Design in 2019 after leaving my stable job in marketing for 13 years at a Fortune 50 company. This leap of faith turned my passion into my purpose, and I haven’t looked back. My obsession with interior design started when I was very young. Hours felt like minutes when I was arranging and rearranging the shelves in my room growing up. I come from a family of artists and the ultimate interior stylists, so design is in my blood. My grandmother has had a huge influence on my life and my eye for design. She taught me that sprucing up a space is all in the details, and that good vintage and antiques are rarely outdated and can hold their value as investment pieces. I am (now) so grateful for the early mornings being dragged and first in line at garage sales and flea markets. I spent many-a-day sorting through her "inventory" and learning from her antique dealing.

As for me, I am a mixer of styles. I believe that contrast makes design interesting--mixing the old with the new, the dark and the light, the bold and subdued, creating something unexpected. I appreciate all design genres and don’t design in a particular style. I love to “get into character” and help my clients create the home of their dreams in their style using design fundamentals. Thoughtful design shows, and it's worth the time and investment.

When my mind isn't visualizing a space’s potential, I am a wife and raising three strong girls who keep me grounded and remind me to cling to what matters. They’ve shown me that I am only one person, but that I can do hard things. I'm a small sparrow, but I know He watches me.
